Green space on Peoria’s riverfront? Peoria, we’ve been here before. Peoria’s first concept of using what was then called the “levee” as green space dates back to the early 20th century when after rail lines were moved there were options for community oriented development. The final result was a fine park-like space with developed trees, walking paths and benches for watching the boats at work along the river.
