On October 2, 1990, the Martha Graham Dance Company premiered MAPLE LEAF RAG at New York City Center. This light-hearted ballet is set to Scott Joplin’s classic ragtime jam, a nostalgic tune from Martha’s teenage years, and features Calvin Klein costumes ranging from iridescent unitards to flowing silken skirts.
