Today marks 56 years since Corky was taken from the ocean and confined to a tank. She is the longest-held captive orca in history. For more than half a century she has endured repeated pregnancies that ended in tragedy, chronic health issues and the lifelong impacts of being separated from her family and her natural environment. On this heartbreaking anniversary, we honour Corky and reflect on the wild life she should have had, one shaped by freedom, family and the open ocean. We will never stop
