Zach Cregger's follow-up to "Barbarian" brought in $71.8 million at the global box office in its opening weekend.

Zach Cregger’s highly anticipated horror film, “Weapons,” and Disney’s sequel comedy, “Freakier Friday,” helped prove that horror and humor can thrive at the box office.

Whatever mysterious power made those kids run away in Weapons must have also lent some of its black magic to Warner Bros. The studio extended its unprecedented turnaround this weekend with its seventh number one opening of the year.
