A “notable” earthquake registering at a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 struck Washington State on Monday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The United States Geological Survey reported a preliminary magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck near North Hollywood on Sunday night. The quake hit at 10:13 p.m. PST at a depth of 15 kilometers, just over an hour after the 2025 Academy Awards had concluded at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake hit around 5:02 AM Monday morning about 18 miles southwest of Bellingham, Washington.
