On the night of August 1, Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 70 strike drones and decoy UAVs. Some of the drones hit frontline areas, the Ukrainian Air Force report. During the night attack, the enemy used 72 Shahed UAVs and various types of decoy drones.

The toddler was the third child to have died in the attack, in which Russia launched more than 300 drones and eight missiles.

President Donald Trump condemned Russia's continued attacks against Ukraine as "disgusting" and "disgraceful" Thursday and said the U.S. plans to impose sanctions on Moscow, but admits he's not sure they will have any effect.
