Volunteers gathered for a cleanup of Abilene Kirby Lake and celebrated the donation of $15,000 toward an arboretum in the lake's park.

"We are in fundraising right now," said architect Mitch Wright, who led the cleanup effort and gave a brief presentation about the arboretum's future. "Bill Senter kicked it off with a $30,000 grant.
