The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives will attempt to pass President Donald Trump's massive tax and spending bill in the pre-dawn hours of Thursday, following weeks of intra-party divisions of how deeply to cut spending.

The amendment to the package, which advanced out of the Rules Committee, includes speeding up Medicaid work requirements and expanding the state and local tax deduction.

A vote on Trump’s big budget bill could come early Thursday morning. The legislation would extend tax cuts and add billions in new spending – and trillions in debt.
