Former Maryland star Derik Queen has prepared himself for the NBA. The Baltimore native is ready to take advantage of his opportunity.

Baltimore native Derik Queen, who starred as a freshman at the University of Maryland, is headed to the New Orleans Pelicans after he was selected 13th overall in the NBA Draft on Wednesday. Queen was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks. However, a proposed trade will send him to New Orleans.

The former Montverde Academy star, who began is high school career at St. Frances Academy, becomes the 17th BCL-affiliated player to be selected in the NBA Draft.
