As a military parade rolls through Washington, DC, on Saturday – President Donald Trump’s birthday – millions of Americans are expected to protest in what organizers predict will be the strongest display of opposition to Trump’s administration since he took office in January.

The largely peaceful protests during the "No Kings Day" demonstration in downtown Los Angeles took an intense turn in the afternoon. Police ordered the crowd to disperse at about 4:15 p.m. PDT near Alameda Street and Temple Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Division.

Demonstrators gathered in parks and plazas Saturday across the U.S. to protest against President Donald Trump. The “No Kings” rallies were organized in nearly 2,000 locations nationwide, including cities,

"Being brave for what we hold dear — our freedoms, our democracy, and each other — it's on us, guys," said the actor at a demonstration in New York City on Saturday.

Social media platforms, collaborative online tools, and encrypted messaging are all helping to power a massive, decentralized resistance to the Trump administration.

Falling on Flag Day and Trump's birthday, the national day of protest is intended to help counter Trump's planned Washington, D.C. military parade.

Coordinated "No Kings" protests are underway from coast-to-coast, part of a "national day of peaceful protest" against the Trump administration that is expected to draw millions. Protesters in some areas braved wet weather to raise signs and chant slogans supporting the rights of immigrants and criticizing what they see as Trump's power grab.
