SF Giants’ frustrations extend beyond loss to Marlins after three batters plunked
SAN FRANCISCO — The comeback efforts were ultimately for naught. The Giants scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to push Wednesday night’s ballgame to extras but ultimately lost, 8-5, to the Miami Marlins and are now in danger of being swept at home by one of baseball’s worst teams.

Following Wednesday’s loss, several players voiced their displeasure about the recent stretch of San Francisco’s batters getting hit. Casey Schmitt, one of three players plunked on Wednesday, had to undergo X-rays after taking a fastball to the left wrist.

Agustin Ramirez came within a triple of a cycle, Kyle Stowers clubbed a three-run home run five pitches after his manager was ejected in the first inning, and the Miami Marlins ran up a season-high run total in a 12-5 romp over the San Francisco Giants to complete a three-game road sweep on Thursday afternoon.
