Pakistan has condemned U.S. President Donald Trump for bombing Iran, less than 24 hours after saying he deserved a Nobel Peace Prize for defusing a recent crisis with India.

The government of Pakistan announced it was nominating Trump for the honor for his role in securing a cease-fire between India and Pakistan in May.

Pakistan had praised Trump's "legacy of pragmatic diplomacy and effective peace-building" prior to the U.S. strikes.
