A county resident who did not report recent travels is the state's second human case of the virus this year, officials said.

State officials have confirmed a human case of West Nile virus in an Oakland County resident, the first one this year. So far in 2025, two cases have been reported statewide. Earlier this month, a Livingston County resident was diagnosed.
