NATO fighter jets were scrambled and air defense systems put on alert in Poland in response to Russia’s latest overnight drone and missile strikes in Ukraine.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko shared an update Tuesday on his plans to deploy nuclear weapons in coordination with Russia throughout his country. The close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin said that "the question of returning nuclear weapons to us was raised."

In response to the Russian politician's comments, Nato secretary general Mark Rutte said Europe must be ready for war and that conflict is “at our door”. “Russia has brought war back to Europe, and we must be prepared for the scale of war our grandparents or great-grandparents endured,” Mr Rutte said.
