Porky Pig was created by director Friz Freleng and developed and animated by Bob Clampett. The head of Warner Bros. Studios, Leon Schlesinger, suggested to Freleng that he create a cartoon version of Our Gang films and that’s where the inspiration for Porky first began.

Looney Tunes has now been around for almost a century, but the last few years have been rough for this goofy crew. 2021’s Space Jam: A New Legacy wasn’t exactly the brand resurgence that Warner Bros.

“The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie” surprised me. I expected yet another big screen misuse of the animated Warner Bros. characters I’ve loved since I was a kid. Outside of 2003′s “Looney Tunes: Back in Action,” and 1988′s “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” movies featuring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig have not done them justice.
