Trump has talked up Greenland as a security buffer and has told Greenlanders that U.S. control could make them “rich.” But Danish and local leaders have pushed back hard at any talk of annexation.

A new report detailed some of Trump's plans to acquire Greenland, which includes a potential annual $10,000 payment to the island's more than 50,000 residents.
