Chip and Joanna Gaines are basically reality TV royalty at this point. From launching Fixer Upper into a cultural phenomenon to creating a full-blown media empire with Magnolia Network, they’ve built an entire lifestyle brand out of shiplap and charm.

Back to the Frontier, which premiered on July 10, follows three families, including Hanna and Riggs, as they attempt to live like 19th-century homesteaders. Speaking to LGBTQ+ outlet Queerty, Hanna also called the experience “a great, amazing opportunity to normalize same-sex couples and same-sex families.”

Gaines has shown his support for the same sex-couple who featured on his and wife Joanna Gaines' new show, "Back to the Frontier."
