The next Chicago mayoral election will be held on Feb. 23, 2027. Nine candidates have formally announced campaigns so far, but others are expected to declare in the coming months. The list of hopefuls includes longtime insiders of Chicago politics as well as newcomers to the scene.
The Health Alliance for Chicago Comedians surveyed stand-up comics who either live in the city or perform there. The survey was conducted during the first half of this year. The group is in the process of creating a pilot program to subsidize health insurance for this population.
Several prominent Democrats already are running for mayor of Chicago. Mayor Brandon Johnson has not said whether he will seek a second term next year.
