Shortly after totals began coming in on Election Day, Carol Miller emerged as the winner of the republican nomination for the West Virginia District 1 United States House of Representatives.

One of Nebraska's seats is open in the U.S. Senate, where Republicans hold a 53-47 majority. In the Senate GOP primary, incumbent Sen. Pete Ricketts will seek his party's nomination, while two Democrats, Cindy Burbank and William Forbes, vie to be on the fall ballot.
