KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Texans Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair are ‘good to go,’ for a AFC divisional round playoff road game Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, according to league sources.
Mixon has proven himself as a reliable workhorse in his first season as a Texan, totaling 245 carries, 1,016 yards, and 11 touchdowns. The Pro Bowl running back has surpassed 100 rushing yards in eight games, including the playoffs, and earned his second Pro Bowl selection in his first year with the team.
In last week’s wild-card round win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Mixon became the first running back since Arian Foster in 2012 to rush for 100 yards in a playoff game. He finished with 106 yards and scored a 17-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to ice the game.
