A new state senator for Mississippi’s District 26 will be selected in the Dec. 2 runoff between Kamesha Mumford and Letitia Johnson.

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — Gov. Tate Reeves set the special election date for a north Mississippi judicial seat. The election is for the Court of Appeals District 1, Position 1, which John Weddle temporarily occupies. The special election date is Nov. 3, 2026. The qualifying deadline is Feb. 2.
