Steelers cut veteran corner Darius Slay and sign wide receiver Adam Thielen to practice squad
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen to their practice squad. The move came shortly after the Minnesota Vikings released the 35-year-old to allow him to pursue playing opportunities elsewhere.
The struggling Steelers are shaking up their secondary by waiving Darius Slay Jr. and signing Asante Samuel Jr. to the active roster.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed wide receiver Adam Thielen after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings. Thielen requested his release out of Minnesota hoping to go for a Super Bowl one last time and the Steelers obliged by claiming him.
Skowronek was a seventh-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 NFL Draft. He joined the Steelers ahead of the 2024 season. Last year, he had 69 receiving yards with no touchdowns on five receptions through 10 games. So far in 2025, Skowronek has 56 receiving yards and one touchdown on three receptions in 12 games.
