President Donald Trump said Monday he would punish Russia with tariffs if there isn't a deal to end the war in Ukraine within 50 days. The president made the announcement during an Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States may hit Russia with very high tariffs i.e. up to 100 per cent if it doesn't stop the war in Ukraine within 50 days. He also said that countries buying Russian oil or other exports could face penalties if Moscow doesn't agree to a peace deal by early September.
The White House announced earlier this month that it would pause the shipment of certain weapons to Kiev, but changed its stance on Sunday by announcing an agreement where NATO will pay for the weapons sent to Ukraine.
