The S P BSE Sensex dropped by 887.31 points to 73,725.12, while the NSE Nifty50 fell by 269 points to 22,276.05 as of 9:53 AM.

At around 10am, the Sensex had tumbled by over 965 points to 73,647 while Nifty had declined by 300 points to 22,244. The Nifty 50 index has fallen over 4% in February, its fifth consecutive month of losses. This is its longest losing streak in nearly three decades.

The Sensex plunged 1.32 per cent, or 985.54 points, to an intraday low of 73,658.45. Meanwhile, the Nifty50 slipped 1.31 per cent, or 295.95 points, to an intraday low of 22,249.10.

The Nifty 50 has declined by approximately 5 per cent so far in February and is on track to post its fifth consecutive month of losses, marking the index's longest losing streak in nearly three decades.

The Indian stock market closed on a mixed note on Tuesday, with the Sensex registering a slight gain while the Nifty50 ended in the red.The BSE Sensex rose 147.71 points, closing at 74,602.12, whereas the NSE Nifty50 slipped 5.

On February 25, the Sensex rose by 0.20% to 74,602.12, breaking a five-day losing streak, while the Nifty 50 fell 0.03% to 22,547.55. Broader indices underperformed, and several stocks hit 52-week highs and lows amid mixed sectoral performances.
