Nintendo said it will raise the price of the Switch 2 in Japan to 59,980 yen, or about $382, starting May 25. The system currently costs 49,980 yen, or about $318, in Japan. In the United States, the price will rise to $499.99 in September, up from $449.99.

With a surprise 'Star Fox Direct' released on May 6, Nintendo finally confirmed the existence and arrival of a new Star Fox game on Nintendo Switch 2. The original Nintendo Switch won't be getting this reimagining of the excellent rail shooter, which sports a complete overhaul of its presentation and substantial content additions.
Despite all this success, Nintendo has still lowered its expectations for the Switch 2. Over the next year the estimate has been reduced from 19.86 million new sales to 16.5 million, which is no small drop. Although the price increases—especially the far more significant rises in Japan—will likely make up for a big chunk of the expecting income.
