Vishwashkumar, who was sitting in seat 11a on the Air India flight, is receiving treatment at Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital, where he has been visited by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also attended the bedside of locals who were not onboard the plane but were struck and injured by the crash.

As part of ongoing investigations, the plane’s black boxes are being analysed. A black box records flight data, and includes a cockpit voice recorder for pilot exchanges and cockpit sounds. It will also pick up engine sounds. Today (Monday 16th) it’s been reported the cockpit recordings have been found.

A shocking new video shows the moment the single survivor of the Air India plane crash escaped the wreckage. The clip, which emerged today, shows British-Indian man Vishwash Kumar Ramesh walking out of a huge billowing cloud of grey smoke where the crash had happened.
