After getting bumped by another horse and nearly knocked off course, Journalism recovered and roared down the stretch to win the 150th Preakness Stakes on Saturday at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.

And so that’s what Journalism did. Because of what happened next, and the way Journalism covered the final 50 yards of a race for the ages, this Preakness Stakes — the final one at the old Pimlico, before it is bulldozed as part of a long-needed renovation set to begin next month — will be remembered as one of the most remarkable of any of the 150 editions.
