A First Alert Weather Day continues for the Western and Eastern U.P. through midnight. This is due to critical fire weather. There’s a combination of gusty winds, low humidity, and dry conditions. Gusts will range 25-30mph,
Bright sunshine Monday will bring some warmer weather. Temperatures will rise into the low 70s. Warmer weather Tuesday will see temps into the low 80s. Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week with temps well into the 80s.
Meteorologist Scott Gagliardi said we have an opportunity to see the Northern Lights tonight. Here’s his 6 p.m. forecast.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Wildfire haze could linger as winds in the upper atmosphere still come out of the north. Surface winds are SSW at 5-10 mph. High temperature of 85 degrees and low of 61F. TUESDAY: Generally sunny despite a few afternoon clouds. High 88F. Low 68F. Winds SSW at 15 to 25 mph. Gusts around 35 mph possible.
A 13 First Alert Action Day will be in effect Sunday night into Monday. Locally heavy rainfall is possible Sunday night with additional accumulation up to 0.25″ in the Tucson area. This may be enough to trigger minor flooding in a few spots.
Confidence is growing that we will see strong to severe storms this afternoon. We have been upgraded to an “Enhanced Risk” for all of our counties in the CSRA. A First Alert Weather Day is in effect. A line of storms will move in from the northeast starting at 2pm and exit along the coast around 7 pm.
A storm system is expected to bring widespread rain to the region overnight and into Wednesday, prompting the WJZ First Alert Weather Team to issue an Alert Day for the Wednesday morning commute due to potentially significant travel disruptions.
