In Illinois, several congressional Democrats are questioning Trump's authority in authorizing the strikes in Iran while Republicans call the attacks “a great victory” and a show of “strength.”

Trump and his team were in contact with top congressional Republicans before the strikes, but some top Democrats were not told of his plans until after the bombs had dropped.
