The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Dante Fabbro to a four-year, $16.5 million contract extension ($4.125 million AAV) through the 2028-29 National Hockey League season, club President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Don Waddell announced today.

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Dante Fabbro signed a four-year, $16.5 million contract Sunday. Fabbro, 27, was a pending unrestricted free agent. He recorded 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) and a plus-20 rating in 68 games last season split between the Nashville Predators and Blue Jackets.

Defenseman Dante Fabbro is staying put in Columbus, while forward Conor Sheary’s tenure is ending in Tampa Bay. The Blue Jackets locked up Fabbro to a four-year, $16.5 million contract on Sunday, two days before the seven-year veteran was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent.
