Ireland hooker Dan Sheehan has been selected as captain on his debut for the British and Irish Lions ahead of Saturday's tour-opening match against the Western Force.

With captain Maro Itoje not in the squad for Saturday’s tour opener at Optus Stadium, the team is skippered by Ireland hooker Dan Sheehan, also making his first Lions appearance. “We have had a good week of training and all of the travel and time zone changes have been managed really well, so we are good to go,” said Farrell.
