The "Scrubs" reboot was reported to be in development last year with Zach Braff returning as Sacred heart doctor J.D., but now Variety reports that the sitcom has been ordered straight-to-series by ABC for the 2025-2026 season.
It’s the news that “Scrubs” fans have been waiting for since last December: a revival of the medical comedy series has been greenlit by ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Braff is repped by CAA, Range Media partners and attorney Ken Richman; Faison, by UTA and Fuller Law; Chalke, by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Johnson Shapiro; Hobert, by IAG and Jared Levine; and Batra, by WME and Bruce Gellman of Hansen Jacobson.

Variety reported in December that the new iteration was in early development at Disney-owned ABC. “Scrubs” debuted in 2001 on NBC, where it aired for seven seasons before moving to ABC for its final two.
