AHMEDABAD – In the wake of the devastating Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, U.S. aviation safety officials have joined the ongoing investigation into the disaster that claimed at least 271 lives.

Officials from the US National Transportation Safety Board surveyed the site as families continued to wait for DNA results to identify bodies.

Air India and the Indian government were looking at issues linked to its engine thrust, flaps, and why the landing gear remained open as the plane took off and then came down.
