Residents in northwest Indiana experienced blizzard conditions, as snow showers and strong winds reduced visibility in the region on Monday, March 16.The National Weather Service (NWS) said that
Light snow, gusty winds and bitter wind chills are expected across Indiana over the next couple of days. Andrew with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis says a band of snow moving through Monday will likely be heaviest during the afternoon before easing up in the evening.
Snow showers Wednesday morning will create slick roads across Indiana before 10 a.m. A warm front clears them out with 40s by the afternoon.
After multiple tornado warnings across the state Thursday night, Indiana is entering a windy and colder stretch heading into the weekend. Gusts up to 40–45 mph will continue through the afternoon, and temperatures will steadily fall through the 30s.
STATEWIDE–Severe weather is possible across Indiana Sunday night, especially between 5 pm and midnight. “The most affected area looks to be along and south of I-70, although Muncie would be included in this as well.
Another round of storms are expected to hit the Chicago area on Sunday.
The chances of severe weather hitting parts of Indiana late Sunday are growing. Meteorologist Matt Eckhoff from the National Weather Service said damaging winds remain the main threat with the line of storms heading to the state.
