After sitting out the Los Angeles Lakers’ first three games, Luka Doncic finally made his highly anticipated preseason debut for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign. The five-time All-Star took the opportunity to remind the basketball world what they were missing without him as Doncic stole the show in L.A.’s 113-104 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

The loaded slate of NBA Cup games on Friday, Oct. 31 continues with the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.

The Suns previously faced the Lakers in Palm Springs, walking away with a blowout win to start their preseason. After splitting their two-game series with the Brooklyn Nets in China, the Suns return home for a short turnaround that likely won't see many of their stars in action.

JJ Redick said in a media scrum on Monday that the plan is for Doncic to play against the Suns in what will be Phoenix’s final preseason game. Doncic had his share of battles with Phoenix while playing for the Dallas Mavericks, with the Game 7 beatdown of the Suns in the 2022 Western Conference semifinals the most epic.
