Now, it's being reported that LSU is parting ways with athletic director Scott Woodward. This, according to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, who is also reporting that Executive Deputy AD Verge Ausberry will step in in the interim.
LSU won six national championships during Woodward's tenure, but he was criticized for the size of his coaching contracts. Gov. Jeff Landry said Wednesday that Woodward would not hire the Tigers' next football coach after the firing Sunday of Brian Kelly.
Ed Orgeron, who served as LSU football's head coach from 2016-2021 and led the team to an undefeated season and national title in 2019, "would love" to guide the Tigers once again, he told ESPN's Evan Cohen on Unsportsmanlike.
