Wireless Router creates a network so that devices can connect to it. Wireless Access Point creates an access point that other devices can use to connect.

You can use the Travel Router's Access Point mode when you want to connect one or more computers to an Ethernet LAN, or local-area network, equipped with its own DHCP server.

Then after it was up and running I went to change mode to Access Point instead of router so I don't have two devices trying to hand out IP addresses.
