The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says a bear with a plastic jar stuck on its head was freed. Officials say they aren't sure how the jar got stuck on the bear's head. The bear was not injured and was released back into the wild.

Thanks to many sighting reports, USDA Wildlife staff found and sedated the bear, and were able to remove the plastic jar.

The bear had been reported with a jar on its head on July 26 and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services department followed reports and attempted to trap the bear for a week before successfully capturing the bear after using an immobilization drug on Sunday and then cutting the jar off the bear’s head.
