Australian airline Qantas disclosed that it detected a cyberattack on Monday after threat actors gained access to a third-party platform containing customer data.

Qantas told the Financial Times it was investigating whether the Scattered Spider cyber criminal group was behind the attack. The strike comes days after the FBI warned there were signs the group had started to target the global airline sector.

A major airline has given an update on a hacker attack, noting that it hasn't been contacted by anyone claiming to have the data that was stolen.
