Erin has become a Category 3 hurricane in the Caribbean, with expectations to strengthen further on Saturday, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Aug 16 (Reuters) - Erin, the first hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic season, intensified into a dangerous Category 4 storm, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Saturday. The storm is currently 120 miles (193 km) northeast of Anguilla, with maximum sustained winds of 145 mph (233 kph).
While it is not forecasted to hit land, strong winds are affecting nearby islands, raising concerns about flooding and landslides.
