The Juneteenth Jubilee Planning Committee is offering a weekend celebration that begins on today with an adult block party on State Street and Ben Swan Way from 5 to 9 p.m. Comedian Ricci Hector will host the party, which will include food, live entertainment by DJ Volcano, vendors and raffles. No children are allowed — no exceptions.

The Dallas native will perform live from The Bomb Factory as part of the “Forever In Rotation” Black Music Month celebration.

Six queens were crowned at the 2025 Miss Juneteenth Minnesota State Pageant on June 7. Miss Juneteenth exists to “create a platform that will provide its Black contestants with educational, networking, and career opportunities,” according to the nonprofit. The pageant also aims to highlight the younger generation, their gifts and talents.
