Regardless of when James decides to retire, he'll go down as one of the "GOAT's" in NBA history. The debate of James vs. Michael Jordan isn't the focus right now, but it's one that will continue for many years to come.

James carries this injury into an offseason filled with decisions. One of them being whether he wants to return for a 23rd season. During the recent episode of his "Mind The Game" podcast, James admitted he has not spoken to his family yet about his looming retirement decision.

LeBron James has a player option to return to the Los Angeles Lakers next season. The four-time MVP and four-time Finals MVP turns 41 in December.  James can decline his 2025-26 player option and become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
