Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to coordinate Iran’s response to U.S. strikes on its nuclear facilities.

Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi is preparing to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying he expected their conversation to “be in the interests of both countries”. Araghchi said late on Sunday night that he would have “serious and important discussions” with Putin in Moscow.

The U.N. Security Council’s emergency session on the U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities is beginning now. The U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Raphael Grossi, are among those expected to speak.
