Air Canada suspended plans to restart operations Sunday after the union representing 10,000 flight attendants said it will defy a return to work order.

More than 10,000 Air Canada flight attendants will continue their strike despite back-to-work orders from the Canadian government, the Air Canada component of the Canadian Union of Public Employees said Sunday.

Air Canada suspended its financial guidance through year-end, citing the impact of a strike by flight attendants that has caused the airline to scrap its entire flying schedule.
