California Gov. Gavin Newsom exposed Donald Trump’s attempt to distance himself from convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. While addressing reporters Monday in the Oval Office, Trump, 79, insisted that his about-face on releasing the Epstein files was due to some of his political opponents having more to hide than he did.
Summers, who ran Bill Clinton’s Treasury department and was later president of Harvard University, sent repeated messages to Epstein about a woman codenamed “peril” in 2018 and 2019, according to files released from the late sex offender’s estate last week. The Harvard Crimson first reported on the messages.
