Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas left Friday night's game against the Minnesota Twins on a stretcher due to a serious left knee injury. Casas beat out a check-swing tapper that Twins pitcher Joe Ryan misplayed for an error in the bottom of the second inning.

Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas suffered a “significant knee injury” after stumbling at first base in Friday’s game against the Minnesota Twins, manager Alex Cora said. Cora added that Casas was in shock when he and the team trainers came onto the field to check on Casas after he fell.
