Two Israeli embassy employees were killed in a shooting Wednesday evening outside an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., just about a mile from the White House and U.

The suspect, identified as Elias Rodriguez, 31, of Chicago, was observed pacing outside the museum before the shooting, walked into the museum after the shooting and was detained by event security, authorities say.

Two Israeli embassy staff were shot dead as they left an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC, by a suspect who shouted "free, free Palestine" as he was arrested, police said. Israel named the victims as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, a young couple soon to be engaged.
